Ashida Kim - is he for real?

  • Is this ashida kim guy for real?
    I went on his website and cracked up at the picture and the stuff he writes about. But other ninjitsu practitioners talk about him as if its not a joke.
    Can someone please clarify?

  • Ashida Kim is a joke in the martial arts world. I'm sure any Ninjutsu practitioner (or any martial artist at all for that matter) would chuckle if they heard his name. He's just some idiot in Florida who thought he'd make a little money off of claiming that he's a Ninjutsu grandmaster of the Koga lineage.   • He is not for real. Although he works hard to TRY to present himself as legit. The man has made the most laughable youtube videos on his idea of "ninjutsu." He spends most of his time defending himself from critics; a real MA master wouldnt waste their time defending themselves from internet critics. He claims to be of Koga Ryu Ninja lineage and he has no proof or basis for this. He cant even name the master who supposedly taught him.
    Ive seen a couple of his moves, they are either taken from Stephen Hayes' books or entirely made up in a nonpractical manner. His vids on "sentry removal, instant self defense, and ninja magic" are so laughable. I dont know where he gets some of his insane ideas, but I'll tell you that he likes to reference movies and Kung Fu Legends a lot.

We're talking major LSD dropping S.O.B. when we're talking about Ashida Kim folks. Then again most of ninjitsu's practitioners are waaaay out there man. Dudes trying to convince the rest of the world they've studied "Yabusame" when no "gaijin" ( foreigners ) are allowed to study "Yabusame" period in Japan. Ninjitsu's people trying to convince the world that "every art under the sun" came from "ninjitsu" when a simple fourth ( 4th ) grade history lesson would prove other wise. I mean the list goes on and on about these so-called "Modern day Ninja" It's all a bad Acid trip that Ashida Kim never got off of folks and that's all. I don't care if they all practice in Noda, Japan or not. 34th Grand Master Masaaki Hatsumi has an occult in Japan, big woop-dee-do!! Who were the other 33 Grand Masters by the way? Masaaki Hatsumi even authored three books on warriorship..... eeww freaky huh? Remember the sarin gas attacks in Japan? This Noda group sounds pretty close to the same type of people responsible for those attacks to me. If I were the Japanese government I'd be keeping a real close eye on this dude and his little Togakure-ryu ninjitsu pals over there. The C.I.A. should be watching any Americans that have studied under Masaaki Hatsumi as well ..... just to be on the safe side.


  • Ashida Kim (aka Bryce Dallas) is just a fraud, and while maybe Frank Dux's students think he's as cool as the other side of the pillow, he's really just a joke (This coming from a "ninjutsu practitioner" if you want to call me that).

    The best part has to be the $10,000 challenge -- you pay him $10,000, and you can challenge him. Apparently, he's turned down the offer at least once.

    Again, like most of the martial arts, the techniques were handed down as kuden (oral transmission), so it's likely the list was amended and parts were forgotten or embellished. Even most of the well known schools predating the Edo period weren't recorded until following the Sengoku Jidai. Just a brief introduction to Japanese kobudo history.

  • Ashida Kim is a con artist. When ninjitsu became popular in the late 70's and early 80's he was one of the first to start advertising that he could teach the way of the ninja. He has a lot of followers to this day. it is truly sad, people like him give ninjitsu, and all martial arts a bad reputation.

    All these years of trying to avoid hearing of, or knowing anything about ninjutsu, hatsumi, kosugi and ashida kim - I didn't realize how good a laugh I would have.

    This is the first time I am hearing that ***-ida kim is not even Asian!

  • Well, HE thinks he's for real. I guess he's convinced a few other people he is, too. But basically he's a white guy who's chosen a false Japanese first name and Korean last name. He cashed in on the Ninja craze in the 80's, but is mostly just a punchline in the martial arts world.


  • Ashida Kim is an absolute CLASSIC example of a McDojo. The guy runs a belt farm and has several identities that he operates under.

    And ninjutsu is pretty wack anyway, so anyone who actually practices it seriously needs their head examined. It has very little practical relevance and relies on narutards for their income.

    Seriously, Masaaki Hatsumi's seminars are full of tubby white dudes in their 30s and 40s.

    Anyway Ashida Kim is full of crap. Go to his wikipedia page and follow the link to his investigation by bullshido.net.

    Also, Ashida is Japanese while Kim is Korean, while he himself is white. Such a poser and so full of sh*t it makes my eyes water.
