calculate enthalpy change for melting of a 30g ice cube?
So, I think they mean that the inital temperature is 0 C, and final T is also ) C. if it was different, you also have to calculate heat to increase the temperature.
1- find the number of moles of 30 g of water.
2- write your equation like this
H2O (s) -----> H2O (l) and look up the enthalpy.
then multiple your number of moles by the enthalpy,since the looked up value is in _kj/MOL.
so something like this:
x mol * y kj/mol.
the moles cancel out and you are left with energy,
cheers :)
