right combination

which is better to buy amd or intel .amd gets hot but its 64 bit and intel is
32 bit .i wanna use the sys for multimedia which one would be better
i was thinking of intel p4 with intel 925 mobo everyone said that amd is 64 bit.if amd which one amd athlon,fx or xp series
so help me get out of this right combination of cpu and mobo.
pls help me bcase i upgrade system once in 3 12 yrs so some good suggestion

u can go for plain AMD 64

AMD 64 is deinitely a better buy if u are looking for future compatibility and good performance. AMD 64 proccys dont get hot, infact they are the coolest processors available around.
The AMD FX series is their flagship series, which is very costly. The vanilla AMD 64 proccy has all the right stuff for the normal user. For the motherboard go for Asus K8V or Gigabyte K8T800M. There is one from ASROCK too but it's not that good.
