This past election, I was allowed to vote for the first time since I was now 19. I really actually paid attention to all the parties idea's and beliefs. And after the debates I really began to lean towards McCain because he wanted to continue the tax cuts and it really seemed to me that Obama and the democrats kind of promote laziness (correct me if I am wrong).
However, my friends and families (mostly minorities) pressurized me A LOT because they wanted to see a minority president. I attempted to ignore them and I did, voting for McCain. When my grandma and I talked about this, I told her straight up who I voted for because I never lie to her. She went as far as to say that "I'm a product of white America and that this is what the Conservatives want".
I don't think McCain is racist. I do know the white supremacists will vote with him solely based race. But then is it wrong that I voted for him?No, you did the right thing. I prefer Obama, but you did the right thing man. I nominate you for president. If you voted strictly on the issues you did the right thing. I might disagree with your choice, but making that choice based on the issues it the way voting should be done. just so long as you vote.vote for who ever you want I won't say it's wrong. I'll just say you haven't experienced enough presidencies to know what kind of leader you really want.Your right
But i wouldnt mind a black Republican.... how about waking J.C Watts?
Hes doing too well to be interested, but hell..A good Conservative...No it's not wrong who you voted for...it is your right to vote for who you want.
"However, my friends and families (mostly minorities)"
This bothers me...it makes me think you are not genuine...No, you were not wrong, you should always vote for who you want, it is your decision, no matter what anyone says.
Plus McCain really was the better candidate.Let me correct you because you are wrong. At 19 what do you really understand about the Bush Tax Cuts? And you were clearly already a biased viewer and listener to the debates, since, there was not the utter of a single word or sentence from Obama that even slightly suggested a call for laziness. It is not wrong that you voted for McCain. What is wrong is suggesting that you are the only learned person in your circle of family and friends and the only one with principals and that these people were putting pressure on you. You are a mess. your friends and families "pressurized" you a lot? That sounds like a Bushism to me.
But you're right to vote for whoever you want, just like Democrats.you should always vote for whom YOU think reflects your values and vision for your country.
of course white supremacists voted for mccain, the same way as black power individuals voted for obama. that is just the way it is in some circumstances. You voted for the right man. McCain economic policies is better than Obama. I think Obama going to run this country down the gutter with his flawed economic policies.Being a long time democrat, and an Obama voter (nothing to do with race) I will say that Yes you were right to vote for McCain. The reason I say this is...it was your right! Congrats for taking time for reserching and voting for the person YOU felt was best qualified. I am proud of you for that. You sure weren't left.i'm proud of you for voting, and i'm glad that you voted for the issue and not for the party.and you ignored the peer pressure.be proud for your decision. so how does it feel to vote?I don't think it's wrong. It's a free country, vote for whomever you like.well i support obama but yes you where right to vote for who you think is rightYou have the right to vote however you want. No matter what anyone thinks....I think you're crazy for voting for John McCain, but that doesn't change the fact that it is your right. You're only wrong to vote republican if YOU regret it.The tax cuts of McCain benefited the very rich. Obama's plan was to roll back the tax code to the '90s....people forget what it was like in the '90s. The republicans think that by giving the very wealthy tax cuts they create job...well, we see what that got us. Then we have the 57 trillion dollar deficit that Bush ran up to fund the wars. McCain would have continued with more war.
The republicans wanted to drill for more oil in this country...the Dems want to promote fossil free sources of energy.
This election was not about white and black, it was about who had plans to create jobs and put people back to work. It was about how to fix the health care system where the CEOs (just like the financial industry) walk away with billions in over inflated salaries. Clearly the republicans would have continued these practices without looking after the people of this country. Our infrastructure is crumbling because we have had 8 years of a President who under the guise of promoting Democracy has been more concerned about the oil reserves in this country. With TWO oilmen in the White House, what do you expect.
And no, the Democrats do not promote laziness...they are promoting jobs for people to earn a living...to pay taxes....to pay down the deficit that the Republican ran up.
And every time we have a republican in the white house...we wind up in a war! Bush lied about the WMD in Iraq....and McCain would have continued those lies....and with Caribou Barbie...that thinks the war in Iraq is a Holy war..well that would be the end of this country. The world hates the US because of the "bring it on" mentality of Bush. The Obama administration has a huge job ahead...trying to clean up the mess of a Herbert Hoover....we better all hope Obama is just like FDR.
See who runs up the deficits in this country:

Yes you were right to stand your ground. It doesn't matter what race you are. It's called freedom to choose and you should never have to feel ridiculed for your decision.I think you're a fake. You're pretending to be a minority so you can get away with these statements and i quote "Obama and the democrats kind of promote laziness" and my personal favorite, "my friends and families (mostly minorities) pressurized me A LOT because they wanted to see a minority president." Yeah I said it, I dont believe you!!!
1) Tax cuts are impossible - if you cut taxes now, you simply have to raise them later.
2) McCain is an idiot liar.
3) McCain is a racist, since he has no plain to address discrimination against blacks.
4) It was wrong to vote for him because he ran a horrible, disgusting campaign full of the kind of hate, vile and lies that he once so courageously stood up against.
5) Read a book. You're smart. Don't listen to people pressuring you to vote on race. It's pathetic. I think there was actually more racism on the Obama side, I mean, common they elected him because of the color of his skin. Isn't that racist?yes you were. now you don't have to feel guilty about yourself if this economy goes down the drain.Getting over prejudices is wonderful. i support that.
however, that being a main reason in this election is WRONG.
and its basically why many people voted for Obama.
and who wouldn't want to vote for someone who promised a lot of 'change'
it was right of you to make a decision based on what you saw, and felt.#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
